Mitchell Buchbinder, MD
Mitchell I. Buchbinder, MD, FACS is an Associate Clinical Professor of Urology and Attending Physician at the North Shore/Long Island Jewish Health System Department of Urology. After completing his urology residency training at LIJ, he joined the voluntary staff in 1974.
Dr. Buchbinder, a native New Yorker, graduated Franklin and Marshall College in Lancaster, Pennsylvania with an AB in Biology in 1965, and from S.U.N.Y. Downstate Medical College in 1969. He has authored articles published in several urology journals and has been intimately involved with residency teaching and training during his long tenure at the hospital. He and his colleagues at Lake Success Urological Associates, have been active at NS/LIJ since the founding of Long Island Jewish Medical Center.
Dr. Buchbinder's clinical interests include his treatment of benign and malignant diseases of the prostate, kidneys and bladder, renal stone disease and endoscopic urology. His non-medical interests include his delicious four grandchildren.
