Theresa Chan, MD
Dr. Theresa Chan is the Director of Urologic Pathology for the North Shore-LIJ Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine. She graduated with magna cum laude from Smith College, and received her medical degree from Cornell University Medical College. She completed her pathology residency training, as well as fellowship training in surgical pathology and urologic pathology with Dr. Jonathan Epstein at the Johns Hopkins Hospital. Dr. Chan joined the faculty at Johns Hopkins as Assistant Professor of Pathology and Urology at the completion of her training. Her research has resulted in numerous publications in the American Journal of Surgical Pathology, Journal of Urology and Urology. She has presented at national pathology and urology conferences. In addition to her academic experience, Dr. Chan has worked at Quest Diagnostics as a urologic pathologist. Using her clinical and scientific expertise, she has worked towards providing the best quality service to physicians and care for patients at a company wide level.
Her primary clinical and research interests are focused on the diagnosis of prostate, bladder kidney, and testis cancers and diseases. Her primary goal as physician is to make accurate and reliable pathologic diagnoses enabling physicians and patients to make informed decisions regarding treatment.
