Testis Cancer
Overview
Testicular cancer is the most common solid malignancy diagnosed in men between the ages of 15-34. In the United States, it is estimated that almost 8,000 men will be diagnosed with testis cancer in 2007. Although these tumors are relatively uncommon accounting for only 2% of all malignancies, the incidence of testicular cancer is rising.
The treatment of testicular cancer has become a paradigm for many other cancers with the integration of surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation therapy achieving cancer control rates of >90% in all patients and 70-80% of patients with advanced disease.
